AND BY THE time I get back to Calgary, Adrian has already left.

I GO TO Chapters and find a book called Chicken Soup For The 911 Soul.  Revolted, I leave.

AND SO I spend the rest of the trip wandering around, checking out Internet cafés, going to Asian malls, drinking pearl tea, eating sushi, looking for something to nail me down.
