....for the time being, anyway....
ROBIN BOUGIE
THE BOUGIE DAILY COMIC:ALEX FRAZER-HARRISON
Truth in advertising. It's a daily web comic by Robin Bougie. Although maybe it's not so daily any more. And maybe it's more of a blog, now. But it's still updated frequently. And subject matter is, well, anything that catches his mind. And, like everything Bougieman does: IT'S NOT FOR KIDS!!! Although spending some time on this site would probably do the little bastards good.At long last, a "blog" that's actually worth going to. These things are few and far between, so pay attention.
Cinema Sewer:
Robin Bougie is the man/myth/monster behind the best movie zine in the world, and this is his site! AND IT''S NOT FOR KIDS!!!Cinema Sewer is must reading for anyone interested in cheap horror movies, porno, "cult" cinema, international film, strange Japanese anime, bad chopsocky and kung-fu movies, blaxploitation, and just about anything else movie-wise that exists on the fringes, all lovingly done and with a gonzo sociologist's critical eye. Generally thoughtful and well-written, open-minded and tongue-in-cheek, each issue is illustrated by Robin, occasionally his wife, Rebecca Dart, and others. Cinema Sewer is more-or-less respectful of its subject matter, unless of course the subject matter is just too weird and heinous to respect even. Robin hand-letters a lot of the zine and illustrates it himself, and this gives Cinema Sewer a very personal feel-- but there are also other contributions and illustrations, too.
So, if you want something different, edgy, and intelligently done, check out Cinema Sewer.
But, once again, !!!NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!
"EXTRA!":MELODY HOEBER:
AF-H On all things Bill Haley, one of the founding fathers of Rock and Roll (for those of you who should all be collectively ashamed for not knowing this-- fall on your swords, now!). For example, Alex recently got an asteroid named for Bill Haley. How cool is that?
The KattzenHausse:THE POPULATION / ADRIAN POCOBELLI:
Melody Hoeber on cats and all other things Melody.
THE POPULATION WEBSITE:RYAN STATES
The Population is Adrian's baby. As with all truly good things, its ultimate function and purpose is kind of cryptic, but under Adrian's guidance The Population has thrown parties, irritated university students, produced art exhibitions, and is secretly attempting to become a political party. Neither right-wing nor left-wing and definitely not middle-of-the-road, The Population tries to combine the best and most interesting from throughout the political spectrum into some sort of radically pragmatic Other that's totally off the radar. It's also a really good place to get your news.POPULATION RADIO:
The home of DJ root-minus-one, Adrian's covert public musical persona, hosting mixes by him. Sometimes the server is kinda slow, but still make sure to check out the new Dave's Dub mix. Some of the best classic Dub on the net specially strung together for sun, summer, and chilling out w/yr favorite beverage. Sometimes a Jamaica of the Mind is even better than the real thing.
FISHCLOCK:
Fishclock is Ryan's new big project, a constantly evolving, loose "collective working" featuring his (and others') writing, art, music, and other stuff. Look for stuff by me there, too, hopefully. Also worth checking out is his Rook's Nest video blog, his brilliant, angry Seven Days of Vaudeville spectacular which gives new meaning to restrained ugliness, and his new, innovative "persona system" (still under construction as of this writing-- but will in all likelihood be well worth the wait) that, while primarily intended for utilization in role-playing games, can also function on other, more intuitive decision making levels like Tarot cards or even Brian Eno's Oblique Strategies deck.THE ROOK'S NEST:
Ryan's blog. Its taking the backseat to Fishclock these days, but it's still got some interesting stuff in it, sometimes.
